The son of African diplomat, Tony grew up in the UK and in several European countries before completing his schooling in Africa, giving him the opportunity to embrace many different cultures. As a child, he was deeply fascinated by people, places and things, and he always wanted to know how and why things worked.
After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering in the UK, Tony’s international outlook led to him spending two postgraduate study years in Europe, first at the famous ÉSIEE Engineering School in Paris, and subsequently, at the University of Karlsruhe in Germany. During his studies, Tony realized that even though technology and computers could do some really cool things (like helping us land on the Moon), the very essence of what makes us human could not be artificially reproduced. No amount of electronics or logic can mimic our Souls, or our Emotions and all the other subtleties that make us the wonderful delightful creative beings that we are.
Tony returned to the UK in 1990 to complete his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and his love of of innovation and technology led him to join the European Patent Office, where he honed his analytical skills in the examination of highly complex technical inventions.
On the surface Tony’s life seemed to be following an ordinary path, but this all dramatically changed one morning when Tony and his two-year old daughter were involved in a near-fatal car accident. It is a cliché that in such moments you see your whole life flash before you. Well, Tony saw his whole life flash before him, and he did not like what he saw. His brush with Death was a Cosmic wake-up call – a greater force was telling him his whole life needed a radical change. As he emerged with his daughter from his car wreck, he made himself a promise: He would completely transform his life, so that when he finally had to face death and his life flashed before him again, he would see that he had truly lived a Life of his own design.
Having resolved to redefine himself, Tony discovered that applying the same rigorous scientific analysis that had served him so well in his engineering career, simply failed him in the context of human relationships. He needed new tools which would allow him to harness the power of emotions in the context of relationships, and spent the last 20 years studying all aspects of self-improvement and human emotional interaction.
Tony speaks English, French, Dutch and German, and now shares a set of principles he has distilled that lead to life-changing results when applied to one’s Self, to one’s relationships, and within business contexts.
