You may feel passionate about contributing to the group and making a difference, but you have to be practical. Re-evaluation in every way may be required as you may have to get past your fear of failure and rejection. Try to be patient and get your act together, you can only help others when you have it together yourself. You may have to go with the flow more than you would like, but love yourself and it will all come right for you.
