“The present imbalance of energy on earth has placed all life in danger. It is time to return to balance.” The Great Council of the Grandmothers are calling us to step into our power, calling women and men to reach out to one another in love. All are welcome to this work.

A man asked women to forgive men. A woman asked men to forgive women. An explosion of grief then tremendous compassion–all hearts opened at the Grandmothers’ Net of Light Gathering in Belgium October 23-25.

“I’m standing here, asking women to forgive men for the terrible things we have done to you. I have done these things too, and now that I see you here and understand what I have done, I want you to know I will never do those things again.” Shaking with emotion, a young man bravely spoke these words and as women listened, tears poured down their faces. Many spoke words of forgiveness.

Then a woman stood. “I would like to ask forgiveness from the men,” she said,

“for the way we have failed to understand them. Men give to the world,” she explained, “and often we don’t understand that. We want men to give to us, we want them to give at home and so we do not value what they are giving to the world. Men are supposed to give to the world,”she said, “and so I ask the men to please forgive us.” Again tears fell as women nodded their agreement and men smiled warm smiles.

Tears, laughter, blooming friendships, singing, dancing, and drumming filled the weekend. Then Sunday when ten men ceremonially moved through the crowd of women, looking into their eyes and singing “All we ask of you is forever to remember us as loving you,” a miracle took place.

Suddenly a woman dropped to her knees and began to howl. Seeing men express love in this intimate way plunged her into grief and she began to keen for every woman who had ever suffered at the hands of a man. She was caught in her pain, and when he realized she couldn’t help herself, a man dropped to his knees with her. But although she clung to him, she was unable to stop, and by now most of us were crying with her. The whole room was feeling her pain.

Then the man who was holding her began to slowly drop to the floor, until his head lay at her feet. We watched as he bowed before her, made himself vulnerable. And then came the miracle.

When she saw his remorse, saw how deeply sorry he was for all she had suffered, she reached out to him, and as she held him, her cries began to subside. She began to return to peace. A collective sigh moved through the room and as we quietly gazed at one another, we understood that what we had just witnessed was the power of love in action. We bowed to the woman and to the man then, grateful to have been part of such a moment.

~ “Words are failing to describe this amazing weekend full of love. It went very deep, and yes, I also wept many tears.”

~ “I received an unbelievable amount of abundance and connection with all that lives in the past, now, and in the future-across the world and the entire universe. I’ll take this experience with me for the rest of my life.”

~ “This has brought the best out of us. Thanks, thanks, thanks. One People, One Love!”

Each time we come together to Weave the Net of Light, the power in this work increases. Each Gathering is different and seven of them took place around the world this year, each building on the one before. The next Gathering is in February at Joshua Tree, California. Please come.

Deep connection to one another, the ancestors, and the land. Our goal is healing, our reach will be broad.

The Great Council of the Grandmothers message is, as ever, a return to balance between Yin and Yang and a respect for the underlying unity of life. They ask us to live in the One Love and offer to guide us past the superficial boundaries of nationality, time, and space.

Together we will heal the past and in so doing, heal the present. We will link

the lands where we gather with the Net of Light to bring reconciliation to many dimensions.
