In the coming Year of the Monkey, matriarchal energy is extremely powerful and it will be a year where the power of women will bring great control to extremely difficult situations. This year, the auspicious Earth number 8 has flown into the earth sector of the Southwest, which is the home location of the matriarch. The Southwest is also the home of the Monkey (SW3), which lends additional power to the matriarch this year.
It is also a year where turning to the Goddesses of the Earth for strength and sustenance is most beneficial. In the coming year, it is your mother, for example, that will exert greater influence on your and your life rather than your father and in 2016 this is a really good thing. If you are able to harness the cosmic powers of the female energy, it will make a real difference to everyone’s luck equation; it will bring safety, security, new wealth and effectiveness in management of your own household and even of corporations, organizations and countries.

The SW is the home of the Indirect Spirit of Period of 8 and as such the presence of water in this location is vitally important if you seek wealth creation. So be sure to place water in the SW to empower your wealth feng shui. If the SW is also the sitting or facing direction of your home then it is even more important for you to activate this sector. No need for swimming pools or ponds in the SW (although if you have them it is amazingly good luck), but feng shui enhancers such as water features like fountains and crystal vases with blue colored water will do very well. Remember that when you do activate the SW, the financial benefits and stability affect your entire household…. which is truly powerful feng shui.
Finally, note that water in the SW is not just for wealth luck! When you place water in the SW it will ensure the continued nurturing presence of the mother figure.
