CTFO has another new product that I am excited about and look forward to adding it to my daily health and wellness routine.

I have been consuming protein shakes for over 11 years now. I have tried different brands and researched the different types of protein shakes. Let’s address some of the questions that you may have in regards to protein shakes.
Is whey protein dangerous for health?
I know it may sound like a silly question at first, but it seems that this is a very important question we must ask about anything new we add to our daily diet.
Protein powders are powdered forms of protein that come from plants (soybeans, peas, rice, potatoes, or hemp), eggs, or milk (casein or whey protein).
Whey protein is considered a complete protein as it contains all 9 essential amino acids. It is low in lactose content. Possible side effects include nausea and headaches, but at moderate doses, whey protein is not considered dangerous.
Don’t use whey protein if you have a major or severe dairy allergy. It may cause digestive distress. People with dairy allergies or trouble digesting lactose [milk sugar] can experience gastrointestinal discomfort if they use a milk-based protein powder.
Does whey protein have animal products?
Like whey, casein protein powder makes up 80 percent of the protein in cow’s milk and is also a byproduct of the cheese-making process, so it is not an option for vegans. But if you’re a lacto-vegetarian, you can add it to the roster.
Best Protein Supplements for Vegetarians & Vegans: Whey and casein are both complete proteins, meaning that they contain all of the essential amino acids. If you prefer plant-based protein or are vegan, protein powders made from soy, rice, pea and hemp, or a mix of these sources, can be good choices.
The first protein shake I was on was whey protein. I consumed a shake twice a day for about a year and a half. I had one for breakfast and one for lunch. I noticed that I did start to bloat and have some gastrointestinal discomfort. My father’s family has a history of dairy allergies. My sons and I have this dairy sensitivity as well. I don’t drink milk or dairy products and can not consume a lot of it or it will upset me. I do love cheese and ice cream. No, not together. hahaha. Looking back, I probably took too much of the whey protein and probably should have knocked it down to one shake a day. However, my experience did lead me to the right choices for my health. Moderation is the key and I know my limit when it comes to consuming dairy products.
After much research, I switched from whey protein to a vegan, pea protein shake. This is what I have been on for over 10 years now. My plan is to continue taking the pea protein shake in the morning and now add the Extreme Shake in the afternoon.
I am impressed and super excited about the ingredients in CTFO’s new Extreme Shake.
Prebiotics and probiotics: Probiotics alone can not survive in our gut. People who have tried probiotics may have found that they didn’t have any success or notice a difference. Prebiotics feed the probiotics. Without prebiotics, probiotics can only survive for about 2 weeks, then die off. So if probiotics have food, the prebiotics, and can survive and thrive in the gut longer … that is a win win for our immune system.
